I agree; Stephen Colbert is the best humorist because rather than telling "jokes", he mimics the boorish behavior of politicos and pundits alike - holding up a fun-house mirror of sorts.
In terms of sheer nerve and brilliance, NOTHING will top the speech he gave at the White House Press dinner a few months ago.
While most comics who get invited to speak at these shindigs will spend their time kissing the asses of those they normally would mock, Stephen was fearless, brave, and innovative in his approach.
He managed to mock everyone there - politicians, lobbyists, members of the press, and other celebrities. Genius....nothing less than pure genius.
