CNN:
"The trouble appeared to start when Germany midfielder Tim Borowski gestured towards the Argentina players to "keep quiet" having scored his penalty to make it 4-2 in Germany's favor."

"Borowski said Argentine players had made "certain movements" to try to provoke him before he took his penalty."

icnetwork:

Germany captain Michael Ballack said, "The first provocation came from Argentina. They were shouting at our players when they were walking to the spot and, although it was in Spanish and we didn't understand, they were trying to put us off.

"When Lukas Podolski scored he put his finger to his lips and said 'shut up' and they didn't like that."

So far, looks normal, where both teams are trying to put nervous the other team. But seems like later, when Argentina was eliminated Germans made fun after Argentineans missed the last penalty. Later Oliver Bierhoff (the man in black) get involved and some said he made some RACIST commentaries and gestures, turning thing worst. Anyway this has to be proved.

Blatter said:
"What I always say is in football you learn to win, but you also have to learn to lose."

Maybe this is a case where both act in worn manner, Germans didn't know how to win and Argentines didn't know how to lose.

What I find more remarkable is what both team managers said
(quoted from www.theage.com.au ) and probably they understand much better situations like this...

Klinsmann put it down to the heat of the moment. "I'd like to remind people that in football, there is so much tension, so many emotions and if it goes all the way to penalties, someone can lose control.

"Football is just so emotional. It's just normal. It's no big deal, no problem at all."

Pekerman added: "At times, emotions run away with themselves at a match and it's not what we feel.

"Germany and ourselves have great respect for each other and this was a thing in the heat of the moment."

Seems like the Argentines got lost in the heat of the moment and were successfully distracted and knocked off their game by pettiness. According to the Argentine paper Clarin, Heinze, Sorin, and Leandro Cufre, a bench player, were pissed off at the way some of the German namely manager Oliver Bierhoff, Podolski, and others taunted them before the final penalty shot. Frings responded that the Argentines were sore losers. It was pretty cool and mature how Lehmann trotted off in the locker room past all of the scuffle after having won the game.

The Germans say because the Argentinian players are bad losers. The Argentinians say it's because the Germans gloated over them after the win and made an obnoxious gesture. The FIFA will analyze the tapes and see who will be penalized.

well there was somethin said by the german side. they got angry on that and it was like a spark for the fire after they lost the game and especially the frustration because of the referee siding the germans. it was a one sided match because of the referee.
