I need to find out the average weight of my stallion. I looked it up but I found out that the average height of throughbred horses is 15-16 hands high. My stallion is 2 hands bigger than average.

It depends on his conformation and bone size and structure. But I would say anywhere from 1600-1800 lbs. I had a 17 hand TB years ago and he was large boned and went about 1700 when he was on the fat side LOL .But when he was in shape for jumping I would say he was about 1625 and looked really good.If you send me pics I can get a better idea,if you would like.
He sounds like he would be a beauty.I used to rescue TB's and they are great horses.

There is no way to advise properly weight. Each animal is different. Being 18 hands (how accurate is that? The world's tallest is 19.1 and 2500# - http://www.countryworldnews.com/Editorial/ETX/2003/et0731goliath.htm ) he's got a lot of frame.
There's a difference between leg height and body height too. Yes it all measures to the same total. But big boned, big bodied, short/long bodied etc. all factor in. Rather than weight look at condition. Fleshing over the hips, backbone, shoulders, ribs you can feel but not see.
If you MUST know weight - put him in a trailer and go across a farm scale - then unload him and weight it empty. The difference is what he weighs. Depending on body type 2,000 might be too heavy but 1700 might not be enough. I can guarantee there is no horse alive or dead ever meet 6 tons. The largest I've ever heard was 3900# on a 21 hand Percharon.

Around 1400 - 1600 pounds more or less.
Ours is about 16.2 and weighs in at just under 1200.
Most TB are not that big. He must look like a draft.

Don't listen to the first entry... no horse would weigh 3 tons, which is approximately 6000 lbs... Your horse probably weighs 1400-1600 lbs...
