Yes, because there are various types and sizes of goldfish and they make good pets. Goldfishes are fun to have around and look at.

Goldfish can live for up to 20+ years if taken care of correctly... The longest lived to 43 years of age... Koi can live even longer... http://www.goldfishinfo.com/goldlife.htm ... They are not beginner fish like people assume... They will quickly outgrow a bowl... 1 goldfish for every 20 gallons of tank space is a minimum when it is fully grown (will happen faster than you think)... Fancy goldfish do stay smaller though... I have a feeder goldfish that was bought about a year ago for 28 cents that is now 12 inches long in a 29 gallon aquarium by itself...

Sure.
Advantages of Owning a Fish
- Peaceful house.
- Less cleaning (but must clean after them).
- Only feed certain amount of food.
Disadvantages of Owning a Fish
- Temperature of the water must be fit for the fish to be able to happily be alive and comfortable with.
- Some fishes cannot join together in one tank. They can probably fight and lose each other lives.
I own 8 fishes. I've seen fishes come and go, alive and dead...
Have fun!

Gold fish are from the guppie family and that simply means they are bottom-feeders and are 'dirty' fish. Their tanks needs to be cleaned frequently (at least every week, no more than every 2). You cannot over feed fish - they get a very small pinch of food daily.
Personally, I recommend Tetras. They are pretty fish and very hearty and not a dirty bottom-feeder fish.

A nice fancy needs about 15 gallons for every one, though a tank of around 50 galons is a good starting point. Dont get commons unless you are ready to invest in a pond. Look into tropical fish and get a nice large tank, a 75 gal is good and cheap. Research and enjoy. http://www.fishforums.net/ look here for great info.

It depends - are you willing to spend the time to feed it, clean its aquarium, and do everything else that needs to be done for a goldfish to remain happy and healthy? Can you afford to take care of it and provide it with a proper environment? If so, and you'd like a fish, then by all means go for it.

Yeah they are soo cute. But if you never had the chance to take care of one they can be alot of work. I would start out with a beta first. You can put them in a bowl and they would be fine. Goldfish need to be in heated water, no matter what anyone says.

well there really isnt much to them.. you feed them, clean the water, and then they die. They do not have very long lifespans.. and while it doesnt take much to take care of them, there isnt much reward. With cats and dogs you get there friendship and loyalty and you can play with them. YOu do not have that kind relationship with a fish.
