in the front of most cd drives there is a little pin hole sort of thing...stick a pin or something in it and hold it in there and try to pull the drive out. good luck

On most rom drives there is an emergency open button just inside the casing of the drive itself. This is accessible by using a key (if one is not available then a unbent paperclip will suffice) and inserting it into the hole. The hole itself is very small and is typically along the right hand side of most rom drives, just below the drive bay carriage. This allows the lock mechanism that keeps the bay inside the drive to be disengaged and the carriage can then be pulled out.

get a screw driver to open your pc case. then unscrew the cd drive your having the problem with remove it from the PC.
now using a screw driver unscrew the caase screws on the cd drive. then remove the top cover carefully.
and hey presto you should be able to get your cd out without any further problems.
now reverse the process to put your pc back together ready for use.
alternatively just try to power up the pc while holding the eject button on the cd drive as soon as the drive ejects you can safely power off the system while it is still booting up but before it starts to load the operating system as it is only reading the hardware device ids from bios and there is no disk activity.
if the operating system starts to load you need to wait for it to show the log in screen then use the turn off command from the screen.

Don't have a paperclip??

You can try a sewing needle, or a stiff piece of wire, perhaps a lady's hairpin, maybe a pin from a large broach

Or, in worse case, you can unscrew the case of the drive to get to the disc.

You need *something* thin enough to push into the small hole - it must not be a paperclip. Look around: maybe, you have some suitable pin, etc.

I was just trying to do that, but how does your PC not have power if you just posted this on the web?

Pry it open. That is what I have had to do. If there is a better answer I would like to hear it.
