Petsmart.. They gave me a free carrying box when i got my Chinese Dwarf Hamster.. I don't know about Petco..

Yes they both do. I got two guinea pigs at Petco and they gave me a free carrying case.

No- The put it in a plastic bag, and tie the top shut!

do you mean a decent plastic case or a cardboard box? I think they used to give cardboard boxes or Chinese takeout type boxes.
