A pound of feathrs is heavier. The avoirdupois pound is 16 ounces. Gold is weighed in troy ounces, which has 12 ounces per pound.

If you had to stick your head into a pillowcase filled with one or the other, you'd most likely die from the pound of feathers.
If a pillowcase filled one of those items landed on your face, the gold might kill you, but I don't think the feathers would.
I'd much rather sleep using the feathers as a pillow, but that gold bar certainly would be nice to snuggle up to if I knew when I woke up in the morning it would still be there.
Owning a pound of feathers would do nothing to lighten my load or worries and bills. The pound of gold, on the other hand would definately take the weight off my shoulders!
Which is heavier? Depends.

This depends on what type of pounds you use. Gold is measured in a different "pound" than feathers. I cant remember which on is heavier though

If you really mean "heavier", they weigh the same - a pound is a pound. On the other hand, a pound of feathers will be substantially LARGER than a pound of gold.

they both way the same, but if you were to drop a pound of gold and a pound of feathers at the same time the gold would hit the ground first. The reason being the gold is denser and has more bulk, gravity would pull it a lot faster.

The pound of gold will hurt a lot more if it hits you in the head than a pound of feathers (density)

Yes.. a pound is a pound... A pound of gold will contain less amount of gold.. it would occupy less volume... whereas a pound of feathers would be a big pile.. it would occupy more volume... but the weight of both would remain same.. pound is pound....

Clever. I really had to think about that one! Must be my bedtime.
Good night. Oh, the answer: One pound is pound whether it's of gold, feathers, flour or dust.

One pound is one pound irrespective of what is used. The difference is in their density and volume. One pound of gold which is very dense would be much less in volume than one pound of feathers which would b less dense but more voluminous. But in terms of mass they would be equal.
