Lots of reasons, some are just looking for attention that they don't get at home, some think it is a way to keep the guy that they are dating, and some just mess up.
Plus it's sad, but it seems like it's almost "normal" or okay to be young and unmarried when you get pregnant. Somewhere along the line I think some mothers forgot that there children (sons and daughters both) need to be taught the importants of "protecting their virtue", and that peer pressure is overwhelming.

Things happen for a reason, its not always clear why. Having a child does not come because a couple says "hey lets have a baby", or just because some people do say it and it happens, if that was the case there would not be women that cant have a baby and has to go thru all of the drama to et pregnant . Baby's come from God because all life comes from him, they are gifts, they dont just drop out the sky, although some women, girls have become pregnant under terrible cicumstances, those babies are still from one place and one place only, God and for what eever reason it may be ,God saw fit for the baby to get here. Hope this sheds some likght on you being confused..

There are many reasons, and just saying unprotected sex is not always true..condoms and birthcontrol don't always work! my brother and my son are proof (LOL). The better question is "when is the right time" granted being married is the most popular answer, but things happen when you least expect them and everything happens for a reason. And any mother will tell you, even if the circumstances weren't ideal, they wouldn't change a thing.

Unprotected sex is a major one. Most of the time an unplanned pregnancy comes because the woman thought that "it wouldn't happen to her". If God sees it fit for you to have a child ready or not here it comes!
