I'm a Japanese woman, and English isn't my native language. I've been listening to The Jackson 5, and there are some lyrics in "The Love You Save" I don't understand. I understand the song is about a fast girl whom Michael Jackson warns to slow down. The following three lines are above my head. (1) The love you save may be your own. (2) Look both ways before you cross me. (3) You're way ahead of your time!

Deos "save" in this contex mean (a) to avoid wasting something, (b) to keep something to use in the future, (c) to collect something for a special purpose, (d) to keep somebody/something from death, harm, or loss, (e) to avoid something difficult or unpleasant ? (2) Look both ways before you cross me. (3) You're way ahead of your time!

The Jacksons are warning the fast girl that if she continues to not cherish the love she has today she will be all alone. So, the love you save by changing your flirty ways will be your own love. Look both ways before you cross me means: "don't think that I won't give you up, if you don't change your ways". You're way ahead of your time means: the girl is behaving like a girl that is older- FAST. Hope this helps. It's a good song.
