Before you speak, ask yourself how your words will affect listeners. Are your words kind? Will they have a positive effect? If the answer to either is no, then ask yourself if the words are really necessary. What is the likely consequence if you don't speak these words? Say the unkind words only if you must.
If you say something that is rude, cruel, or offensive, it isn't any less so just because it's true.
