Example: I want it to look like I didnt plant it, but have it appear to be upkept with minimum work.

I figure you'd like a low maintenance style
try a creeping ivy ground cover and a few
other plants or shrubs that cover a wide
portion and you can add flowers that give
it a accented look. Check your garden center
and this will give you an idea on what is
possible.

Heavy duty landscape fabric and landscape pins. Over that, about 4 inches of hardwood mulch. Plant the plants close together so you can't see much of the mulch.

Lowes or Home Depot should have the necessary items.

For plants, it really depends on where you live. In the south, try plantdelights.com for ideas. In the North, try white's flower farm for ideas.
