Bathing daily cleanses the skin, but it also can dry it out, causing it to look dull, but most importantly, it may cause irritation and remove the natural emolients your body produces to keep it healthy. When you bathe, always use a moisture-rich cleanser, and always pamper your skin with a daily moisturizer. Also, using products the wrong way helps your oily gland cells act up, for example if you have a tzone (oily only forehead and nose) and you use a serum for the entire face, this will help the sebacious glands (oil glands) to produce more oil. Also if you have acne you should not use a scrub because this is what could worsen your acne because it active the production of the sebacious glands. I would recommend you having your daily skin care regimen with products formulatted without mineral oil, animal products, fragrances, dyes, and chemicals. I herd in fox news about the ingredients in the "beauty" products. Did you know that the mineral oil is the 2nd worse thing you could do to the health of your skin? #1 is the sun. It is like rubbing car oil and exposing yourself to the sun. Did you know where animal products come from? they come from dead animals..... there are tghese plants (rendering plants) that what they do is get all the dead animals put them in a huge pot, squash everything in there, boil it and the oil that comes to the top is what companies use to formulate their products, gross i know.....this is the reason I only use botanically based products for my skin.... these products help you to see results. the news i am telling you about the toxins we can see in the beauty products, this is the link.... http://easylink.playstream.com/ydc/Arbonne/fox_news.wvx
it is alarming, and the products the spokeswoman for the National Cancer Society actually uses are ARBONNE the same products i use ..... https://secure.myarbonne.com/arbonne/arbonnepuertorico.nsf/p1/1?OpenDocument&shoppingcart=1

I believe that if you eat the wrong things, it will come out in your face. For instance, if you are dehydrated, you need water. But if you don't drink enough water, you become dry and sometimes the skin becomes irritated.
For oiliness, if you add too much salt or eat stuff with a lot of salt, that will your face oily. So you really have to watch what you eat. Try to eat more fruit & vegetables. Even though it sounds easy, not everyone does it. Or they don't eat enough of it to make a difference.

I think the causes can be summed up in three words: diet, environment and genetics. Prevention will depend on what is the primary cause of the oily or dry skin. If it's diet, then just change your diet. If it's environment, control or avoid the factor that is aggravating the oiliness or dryness of your skin. If it's genetics, blame your mom or your dad. (I blame my dad for my oily skin. My mom has never had a pimple in her life.)

Eating oily foods and mostly sugary things will amke your skin oily and give you acne. I have also found that the skin care products proactiv make your skin very oily. If you was to dry it out use a strong cream such as a 10% benzoyl peroxide formula.

1. If you're dark skinned you'll have more oily skin and dry hair.
2. If you're light skinned, you'll have more dry skin and possibly oily hair.
3. It's not really a problem, it's biology.

When you wash the dishes or do other things, your skin can become really dry,but there's lotion for that. And greasy foods and oils do cause skin to become oily.So just get a oil-free body and face wash.Good luck.

our skin has a normal texture, like our body. if it gets dry, it produces oils to maintain t texture, if it is oily, it reduces oil secretion making it dry. to prevent skin problems, eat non oily food, drink lots of water, face exercise, wash face regularly, apply appropriate face packs& creams.
