Supposedly Osoma Bin Laden was behind 9/11. Why is it The U.S. went after Saddam Hussien and not Osoma Bin Laden? Where is he at? Why did we really go to Iraq in the first place? What happened to the weapons of mass destruction? I am really confused on this whole war on terroisim?

If we went after him, what in the world happened? I would have rather seen them catch him than just Saddam.

You skipped a piece of history there. We did go after Osama. We went after him first. That was what that Afghanistan thing was about, remember Afghanistan? The Taliban ruling there were helping Osama and he went into hiding after the Taliban began losing. We almost got him, that was why he was walking with a limp and seemed so sickly in some of the pictures he released. We bombed a cave complex where he was hiding.

As for the WMDs in Iraq, Saddam had been yanking everyone's chain for years. He had bought some sophistocated fiber optic fire control systems from the Chinese with Oil For Food (OFF) money supposed to provide food and medicines for his country's poor. He built almost a hundred palaces with OFF money. He rebuilt his army which had been so decimated by the Gulf War, again with OFF money. He had hundreds of people on the payroll to develop nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) weapons, but they were playing shell games with the UN inspectors, holding them up at the front door and sliding things out the back until they were gone. Contrary to Ambassador Wilson's snooze assignment, which testimony before Congress showed his conclusions were wrong, as attested by several tons of 'yellow cake' uranium, finely milled metal whose next step was the enrichment program currently underway in Iran. Iraq used a "dual-use" program to build the infrastructure that was capable of making 'normal' stuff then, when the heat was off, shift to NBC purposes when the time was right.

Every military unit had a chemical weapons officer. They stashed hundreds of bio/chem suits--if you were watching the news any at all back then there was some 300 of them stored in a hospital (as well as several hundred body bomb vests stored in schools, of all places). Interviews with the generals all had the same story, "We didn't have them (WMDs) but the units beside us did." Then there were these mysterious trucks speeding through the desert to Syria just before the war. Many still believe that they are stored there for the Palestinians--remember, if you can, that Saddam was supporting the families of Palestinian bombers who killed Israelis and others.

Some of the terrorist leaders liked to retreat to Iraq when pressure was tight. There was a known site where an airplane body was known to be a practice place for perfecting airliner take-overs by terrorists. There was a known association of Iraqis being in various stages of association, including some connected to the financing and support of the 9/11 terrorists. The active participants of 9/11 were in Afghanistan, but Iran and Iraq all made the connections. Saddam was a great liar. Some of the people who gave us information were great liars. Some of the conclusions we arrived at were simply based on liars, which in turn we were then to accuse those giving the conclusions of lying--insane irony that this is.

Theres no need to be confused. There are two wars. We went into Afganistan to destroy Al Queda and their backers, the Taliban government. Before the job was done, the administration pulled out most of the troops to be used in the second war. The war in Iraq was a done deal long before 9/11. A lot of the Bush adminstration, and their senior advisors belonged to a neoconservative think-tank known as "The Project for a New American Century" (www.newamericancentury.org) or PNAC. During the Clinton administration PNAC was vehiment that the US use any means nescessary to oust Saddam and create a perminant base of operations so that the US could spread it's influence across the middle east (especially the oil-rich persian gulf region). Once Bush got selected, PNAC was able to put their plans into effect by using a combination of 9/11 patriotism, "cherry picked" intelligence, and outright lies about WMDs.

Osama is in Pakistan. The US could get him at any time, but prefers that he stays where he is.....outside the control structure of Al Queda, but able to send the occasional video tape to remind us he's still out there.

I don't think anyone knows why we went to war except the US government...and then Britain joined because Blair wanted to impress Bush. (I'm British btw and completely disagreed with that decision)

Nobody really knows where Osama is either - all the public has ever seen is blurry videos...

No WMDs were ever found

The US government allegedly has some reported, but unsubstantiated links with the Hussein family, and some conspiracy theorists believe the war was a way of saving face after funds were given to the Husseins.

Personally i think it was a very sad mistake, which grew into something no country could control......and still can't!

BUSH is just like saddam he will not allow inspectors in to search his ranch for bin laden. should we declare war on bush now ?

The illegal war in Iraq really had nothing to do with the war on terror. Still on the war on terror subject, you're wondering about Osama bin Laden's whereabouts. He's still holed up in the mountainous terrain somewhere along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. That's all I know.
