Since you're not from the area, it might be nice to stay away from national chains. Some mid to lower prices local restaurants in the St Louis area are:
- Pho Grand - Vietnamese food in the South Grand neighborhood
- Big Sky - a new take on typical American menus in Webster Groves
- Charlie Gitto's Pasta House - classic Italian and a favorite of many locals in the Downtown area
- Pueblo Solis - Authentic (really!) Mexican food in St. Louis Hills.

Hope you enjoy your stay!

It would be good to know what area you'll be staying in - there are so many great restaurants in St. Louis, it is easier to narrow them down by area -

If you're an Italian lover, I'd try any restaurant on The Hill - St. Louis tradition...

The Boathouse is pretty cool. They have outside dining as well. They have a good variety of food, from pizza to fresh seafood. They are on Government Drive in Forest Park Lagoon 314-367-3423. Hope that helps!

Applebee's is always a good choice. They have a variety, so anyone can find something they like. Of course it's not unique to St. Louis, but it's tasty.
