When rabbits are scared or hurt they sound like a baby being tortured...it's the worst sound I have ever heard.

Tiffany D is correct. I have two pet rabbits and they are quite vocal, they frequently grunt and make sniffing sounds, they can also almost make a purring sound. I have never heard them make the rabbit scream because I take good care of them, but I heard it is a very disturbing sound indeed. It also has to do with the rabbit's personality, one of my rabbits is much more vocal than the other one. Some rabbits are naturally quieter, just like people, but the can and do make sounds.

I never heard my rabbits making sound. But then again, I'm not with them 24/7 so they might make sounds when I'm not around.

Yes, they do. Just wait until it gets sick and is in pain. The screaming is blood curdling. My sisters' rabbit had bad colics, I'll never forget the pain he was in. We took him to the vet and they treated him, but he ended up dying anyway. I never heard him make noises on a good day though. Only when he panicked or was in pain.

rabbits do make sound but only when frightened.. I use a rabbit call(much like a duck call) for hunting coyote.

They have a death squall that will make your spine crawl. We had a pet rabbit. It let us know before it passed on. Not a sound you will forget.
