They may use scrub boards. They are easy to make.
There are several sects of the Amish. All are good decent folk. Some will ride on trains but not planes. Some will use tractors and some only mules. They pulled out of a wicked society years ago and got stuck in time. They are all okay, just backwards to the rest of us. In all he Amish communities together-their crime rate is almost zero. That is most admirable. If they have disputes, it is never serious. I would not want to be Amish, but we could learn a lot from them.

Clothes can be easily washed without electricity.
all u need 2 buckets of water, detergent and a concrete place to bang the clothes.

put all ur clothes in a bucket full of water add detergent and leave it for at least an hour. take them out of tht bucket and wash them with clean water from other bucket. put the wet clothes under the sun. And thus u hav washed and dry clothes without use of electricity.

yes, they do still make wringer washers, but in todays world, you might be surprised, because the amish do use electricty to do thier laundry, and they do use gas too cook with, etc, and this may shock you, but they also use computers too :)

Let's see. How did people wash their clothes before electricity and washing machines? Ever hear of a scrub board and a wash pot?

They do make them still, usually the Amish make them for themselves. But they also use big tubs, with the metal scrubbing boards as well.

Here in Pakistan, people still wash clothes without electricity i.e washing machines. you can wash them with your hands. Fold them and slam them over and over again against the ground....it will work!

Some use wash boards. They have ridges on them and scrub their clothes on them.
