If you don't know what you are doing or aren't getting results - yeah. A good certified personal trainer really does know what he or she is doing and can help the newbie to get on track.

And TRUST me, I've seen this happen a MILLION times - if you don't see results consistently you WILL get discouraged and you WILL stop working out. Make sure your workouts are effective and get expert advice.

It is an investment in yourself.

And if you need encouragement go to your local mall and just look at the walking digestive sacks at the food court. Do you want to be like them or do you want to actually have a life?

If you have limited knowledge of exercise it is important that you are trained in the proper way to work out. If you don't use the equipment properly or use bad form, you could injure yourself.

Also, it helps to develop a workout plan based on your specific goals and body structure and health history.

Most gyms provide two free sessions with membership, so I'd check with the manager. Good luck!
