I get a message that said file is being used by another program, but that is not the case (I get this mess. every time, every day!). what can I do? I already have antivirus software - nothing.

there are temp files that are being used, and windows makes new ones everytime it boots, most are harmless, see what other program is using it.
If it really bugs you then try to boot in safe mode and delete it, but if it is needed, then a program or windows might not work next time

You can always run a Scan with your Antivirus software and quarantine that file which you are referring to..But if the antivirus software doesnot detect the file, and if that appears to be a virus, then back up all the data in that drive, or you can copy it to some other location on your hard disk, then format that drive containing the suspicious file that cannot be manually deleted...This is the best way to get rid of that troublesome file.

that simply means the file is needed for something in the computer to work. Whatever that's using the file may not be something "visible", meaning it may not be a program with a window

It could be a system file or something... If your antivirus software is good quality, you should be ok.

Listen...to delete that file ....you must first stop running that file( close it) then try deleting it...ok ...i hope my answer is best

i bet you its a virus. maybe try a new software.
