The line that I can remember on the spot that truly touched me the most was from Night by Elie Wiesel:
"God was hanging from the gallows." or something along those lines. In the concentration camp a child had stolen food and was to be hung. All the prisoners and guards gathered round as the child's sweet face went pale. Even the guards choked up. And the young Elie was wondering what happened to faith and God and everything happening for a reason. And the last sentence of the chapter was: "God was hanging from the gallows." It truly touched me.
