alto is the low female voice(contralto is the lowest of the alto voices)....treble clef is another name for G clef....the clef that alto, sopranos, and sometimes tenor sing in. It does not look like a backwards C....that is the bass clef. Soprano is the high female voice. There is also mezzo-soprano, which is between soprano and alto and descant which is above the soprano. Tenor is the high male voice. Bass is the low male voice. There is also baritine, which is between tenor and bass.

Alto is a low female voice and suprano is a high female voice. Bass is a low male voice and tenor is a high male voice. As far as I know, treble in the left hand that usually looks like a backwards C played by the piano or organ sheet music. It may have something to do with voices too and is probably a low voice , if any because the left hand plays the lower notes on the piano.
