Use tracking software like didtheyreadit. The link below will take you to a free trial of this. I think the trial is for 14 days then you have to purchase it. It will tell you:

1. When, exactly, your email was opened.
2 How long your email remained opened.
3 Where, geographically, your email was viewed

They don't even know it's installed on your computer.

Not really without paying for a service that will allow you to "track" when an email is opened; and, there is a catch.

To track that an email is opened, a small (tiny) image is embedded in the email. The image is located on a web server that tracks when the image is requested. That request is logged, hence, signifying that the email is opened.

This does not always work because not all email programs, e.g. Outlook, open/show images automatically to counteract the very thing being tracked!

Can you do it, yes. Is it easy or 100% foolproof, no.

Yahoo does not offer receipt notification.

Some email software, e.g. Outlook Express, provides the capability to request it, but most ISP's suppress it to reduce the volume of email.

So, no.

I think the one of the only accounts that you can do that is AOL. But that would be a good suggestion to Yahoo. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would like that.

Don't think so, I do know that if you send one of those e-cards, from like Hallmark, they have an option for you to mark, if you want to be notified when the e-card was open.
