they think that women won't notice them looking if they pretend they're not looking - but everybody knows they're looking (really subtle - don't you think?)

If I aproached every girl I thought was a cutie then I would never get anything done. But it's still nice to look at a beautiful girl and I don't want to be too aggressive with a direct stare, even though I know that most girls are observant enough to know usually when they are being corner peeked.
You know what would be a nice treat someday, though? If some girl that I was corner peeking took it as a positive sign and tried talking to me it would really stand out because most girls don't want to be the approachers at all. I personally would find it sexy and charming if a girl approached me.

Depends on the situation. Lots of guys will turn to look a hot girl even if they're just window shopping and have no desire to cheat on a girlfriend or wife. Girls do that too... nothing wrong with lookin'.
Some guys may feel like they'd rather meet someone they've been introduced to, or someone they know has similar interests. Meeting someone on the street can be like meeting in a bar, where you really know nothing about the person... and some people just aren't into asking a stranger out.
Still others might be shy or intimidated.
And others do ask hot girls out... it's not like every hot girl sits around wondering why guys don't hit on them. It's usually the opposite problem.

Being a male we have the tendency not to do what were thinking right away. We will approach eventually just not right away becuase were checking that hot girl out. We need to know if she has a fat booty, if shes sexxy, and if she has a good personality (whens shes around her friends). Dont be freaked out by it. It maybe a good thing.

its natural for guys to check out beautiful women. its in our genetics. then you look at the ring finger to see if she is single. as far as approaching them. most guys think as they are so fine that they would be taken or want nothing to do with them. most totally hot women want a guy that is fine or has alot of money or hung like a horse. i've dated super models and totally hot women and two playboy bunnies in my time. they were for the most part interested in money and where high maintance. you can be a average guy and nice as can be, but the hot women will always be high maintance as they know there hot and use it to get what they want.

So they can see what they CAN'T HAVE!!!! Why don't they go away and leave girls alone?! Nobody wants to be stared at. Let him get his @ss kicked for staring - some girls aren't single or even interested in the guy! My wife gets hit on even after she tells guys she's got a good honey and we both don't appreciate the men coming on to her. It's disrespectful - STOP STARING!!!

Only immature 'guys' pretend that they are not looking.
Looking at a hot girl is normal. STARING is impolite, so it's best to glance and if the girl sees you looking at her, just smile politely and say 'hi', and talk to her, maybe she will actually like you IF you give her a chance.

Sometimes we are not allowed to do more. Etiher by having a gf or a partner. We can just look and continue walking. It's like window shopping for an expensive car you can't afford.

i dont know. when i hit about 15 years old i stopped eyeing them and just decided to go for it. i was at the beach and there was this gorgeous girl in a black bikini. my friend and i did the "no, YOU go talk to her!" game for a minute or two, and i said "yeah... i'm going in!". lol. i've learned a lot about women, and i've still got a lot to learn, but it seems that they almost always like a guy thats confident enough to go talk to them.
funny story, i talked to that girl for a few minutes, and she was gonna give me her number, and somehow our ages came up in conversation.... lol, she thought i was 19, and i assumed she was no older than 17 or 18..... SHE WAS 25!! LOL. but, she told me that if i approached other girls the same way i talked to her, that i'd always to okay.
damn, she was hot.... lol.

Because they either have someone already or they're scared of someone actually getting to know them better.
OR there's something about you that they don't like so much. Could be the way you walk or run, that caught their attention in the first place.
