First, drink lots of water...water will help purge your body of inpurities. About 8 glasses a day.
Always wash your face before going to bed...don't sleep in your makeup. Use a good cleanser like Neutragena or even Dove soap. Follow up with an astringent. If your face is sensitive, use something like Witch Hazel. Another good tip...use egg yolk to help pull out impurities. I know it sounds gross, but do that maybe 2-3 times a week. Put it on your face, let it dry, rinse it off, and wash. You'll see a difference.

You should first find out what kind of skin you have and change the stuff you use for your face. e.g. your facial wash, toner and moisturizer. (Find the ones that is right for your skin type.) Clean your skin twice a day, one in the morning and one before you sleep. Dirt clog pores that can start a pimple.
Second, find products that contains benzoyl peroxide and it'll help dry your pimples. Some use proactive, but it can get pretty expensive due to the fact that you have to continue using it even after the pimples are gone. o_O And I heard that it has some bad effects on sensitive skin.
The most important bit: go to a dermatologist to know what is really going on. It maybe your diet, stress, make-up or skin type. And oh, do not touch or prick your pimples just because its itchy or you want it to be gone instantly, for it will only aggravate the situation.

Don't trust informercials and advertising. I found a nice website, acne.org. Look under product reviews, then over the counter treatments. Wash morning and night. Moisturize. I think accutane is the drug that if you are male or have no chance of getting pregnant you can get a dermatologist to prescribe it for you. Go to makeupalley.com and look under ocgirl's notepad. At makeupalley.com you can also find reviews for Zeno, which is good if you just have a few deep acne spots at a time.
In response to the previous totally useless comment I saw, acne is actually a mix of imbalanced hormones and bacteria that clogs the pores and doesn't let the oil out. Too much sugar (i.e. candy bars, cake) can increase the amount of oil your skin creates, and you eat too much sugar when you get stressed, don't get enough sleep, or get nutritious food.

Eat plenty of onions and garlic and sprinkle vinegar on anything you can stand eating with vinegar; all of these are powerful blood cleansers -- they clean the blood. Don't eat greasy foods, fast foods, sugary foods or drink sodas. Limit your chocolate. Wash with a Neutragina face bar in the morning and at night every day without exception. If this doesn't clear you up in a month or so, go see a dermatologist as you have what's called "problem acne" and not just the usual variety. They will prescribe both medication and a special cleanser that works most of the time. Don't pick your zits as this spreads bacteria. Don't use Oxy ANYTHING as this burns the skin, causes it to produce more oil and tends to worsen acne.
Hope this helps!

I use the Clear Skin Regimen at http://www.acne.org. It's a non-profit (so it's free), the guy who created used to suffer from pimples himself. The system works wonders on my face, and its helped countless other people. The best part is that you don't have to order or buy any expensive treatments, everything you need for the Regimen can be found at your local drugstore. Find out more at the website.
In general, for clear skin it helps if you: don't touch/pick at your skin, drink lots of water, wash your hair frequently, change your pillowcases, exercise, wear little make-up (or if needed, hypo-allergenic makeup), and minimize stress.
Another important tip is to look up online consumer reviews of acne products before you buy them, using sites like epinions.com or drugstore.com. A great website I use to get cosmetic reviews is makeupalley.com (A mostly women's site). Researching the effectiveness of products helped me a lot in my battle against blemishes. Hope this helps!

This is a question for your pharmacist or, if it's really severe, your doctor or dermatologist. Typically benzoyl peroxide is the treatment, although there are other drugs. Cleansing the skin frequently with an astringent is also a big help, as acne is caused by oil. There is a blue Noxema alcohol solution I used to use which is good. (Better than Listerine.)

So many things effect the breakouts we get! "that time of the month", Stress, Face-cleaning habits....
The best way to get rid of acne and STAY rid of it is to find a good quality skincare and then USE it often!! one of the best preventative measures is to wash your face morning AND night...if you wear makeup i suggest washing twice at night to remove product and really clean the skin! If you workout or do sweaty activities you should wash your face IMMEDIATELY after!! all that sweat and crap gets into freshly open sweaty pores!!
I use FRESH products available on-line or at a boutique or department store...
i think it's great but really it would help just to wash alot and get a good pore refining mask to pull crap from your pores...find something gentle enough to use every day..
a dab of a clay or medicated cream directly on pimples wouldn't hurt either!!
if your interested I'll tell you the best FRESH stuff to use
Soy Face Cleanser
Umbrian Clay Face Treatment
Cleansing Balm with Lemon Oil (for oily skin)
a good moisturizer EVERY DAY!!
I've tried so many medicated things that just dry your skin out so bad!! proactive and the likes... be gentle to your skin!! if it burns or tingles too much it's probobly to harsh for you!!
Good luck!!

Has to do with digestion too because that affects the dermis. You should contact one specialist before doing changes, try washing face with white towels and also quit stress
