I just got back from Thailand. It is amazing. Its sort of like the highest highs and the lowest lows. I'll explain.

We went to Hua Hin, it's a beach resort area. The most beautiful place I've seen outside of Hawaii and white sand beaches near Pensacola, Fl. It had a very resort feel with lots of shopping, beaches, water sports, etc. Then we would go into Bangkok. It was so unbelievably overpopulated that you would see some of the most disturbing poverty ever. Mothers would bring their newborns to work, lay them on the ground next to them while they worked. There's no daycare and even if there was, the common people cannot afford it.

The smells are the same. I've never tasted such rich foods as Thai food from Thailand. You cannot even describe the tastes. Every 4 feet there is another hole in the wall street restaurant with some of the most incredible smells and tastes the world will ever know. You then walk 2 feet past and you smell something you cannot even describe. Just foul, unpleasant, stench.

If you can handle these ups and downs, Thailand is incredible! There is more to do in Thailand than all of California. The exchange rate will make you a King no matter where you are comming from. The service in Thailand is second to none, because that is how they survive. The beaches are beautiful, especially down south on the peninsula. If you can go, if that is why you are asking, then go. It is an experience you will not forget.

Thailand is one of the best tourist places in Asia.

The people in Thailand are extremely friendly and the country is very tourist friendly. Thai food is really delicious, though a bit hot!

Thailand got excellent beaches and islands and got few good hill stations like, Chiangmai.

The only downside is that, you can't find many poeple speaking English other than in Bangkok. But you won't face any difficulties due to this since most of the hotel staff will help you through.

Overall you will love this country as a tourist.

Well, it's not really that great. But if you love visiting temples or eating exotic food, then Thailand is your destination.
