God is God. There is a single deity.
But if, like many other people, one believes that he is his own god, then God would be the god of that foolish mortal god (the person). Do you understand yet?
We live in a society that worships individualism, and so tries to personalize everything to fit it's desires- including religion. We idolize those who make it to the top without any help and make themselve a star. Ask people who their God is, and they will say "Me," as if they are could be a deity. Or, if they are apart of an established religion, they will begin with "My God..," as if God belongs to them.
Many people call God a selfish brat who wants everybody to worship Him, and so in defiance of that "selfish brat," they make themselves their own God.
Step back and look again. The creator asks HIS creation to serve its purpose. Because the creator kindly gave the creation a free will and ability to reason, some of the creation spits in the creator's face and says, "Well who do you think you are. I am smart. I can reason. I can make my own decisions without you controlling them. I know how to control your creation now. Do you think I want to worship you? You must be crazy. Do you think I need a god any more? What about me? Don't I need to be worshiped? Why should you get all the praise from everyone? All you did was create me and now I have to serve your purpose? No. I am the self-exalted human, and I am my own god."
Which is more selfish: a creator creating something and asking it
to serve the purpose he created it for, which was not just to praise him 24/7 for all you obstinate believers of such, or a creation telling his creator that he will worship himself because he has discovered that the creator doesn't exist and if he did was too selfish to be worshiped? A creation cannot create itself; all creation has a creator.
Thus God is still God, there is no other god but Him.

As long as your image of "god" is that super doper power that gives & takes, creates & kills, punishes & rewards, blesses & curses, gets angry at some and forgives some, loves some & tortures others .. etc, then that god whose image you have in mind is an illusion; a no-god who should not be the real God. Simple logic: any deity that you can imagine is just another god of your imagination because you are a creature with limited tools for the knowledge beyond your limits, and as you cannot tell what beyond your limits looks like, you attempt at creating one, with your limited human logic that cannot understand that there are limits to its capabilities and knowledge. Hence, whoever has a god of that sort, is worshipping an illusion; his own thoughts and his own creation. Such gods are man-made gods and we cannot say "they are gods who have a God".
Who is God, what is God, when is God ... are all human questions about an existence beyond human perception, so they should not be asked, and if asked, should not expect a correct answer from limited humans like themselves.
We are all worshippers of a deity of our own creation by imagining that we can describe or know or even imagine whoever created this universe for real.
Bottom line: No one knows ....
Religions are attempts to know God, but fell in the trap of believing they could know God
The real God can never be comprehended or described or seen or even imagined. Therefore, the question itself is of the same nature of our uncertain /can never be certain human knowledge of God.
If I answer you with "the real God is the god of all gods, and He Himself does not have a god", I will be a stupid repeater of the same stupid knowledge man had been preserving all through history. Rather, my simple answer is: Only God who created us knows how childish his creatures are in trying to know Him, unheeding that if they do, they become God himself, which is impossible.

In theory there is no one above God....because if God had a God then wouldnt be perfect and also then the other god will have another god and so on and then I have to admit to be polytheist. I am monotheist only one God.
Why would God need another god to be alive?
