Has anyone in your family, or anyone you know, ever been killed by a lightning strike?

I was struck by lightning back in 1996.
But i wasn't killed too seriously.
That count for anything?

I know someone who was laying on a metal framed bed and lightning came though the window and struck the bed. His feet were on the frame and his feet were messed up pretty bad, but he survived. So I guess my answer is no, I don't know anyone killed by lightning.

Personally speaking I haven't met or heard of anybody being struck by lightning, maybe in the old days but now? never.

I just met a guy today. I had a tree hit by lightening last week and I had a contractor here looking at the damage and giving me an estimate... any ways he said he was on a golf course a few years ago and it started storming. He said that he and his buddy took cover, and lightening his near them and lifted them and their golf cart off the ground.
