It all depends on you, actually. There are some who don't wear tampons until they've lost their virginity, becasue their religion dictates that tampons take your virginity away, but that may not be necessarily true. Everyone has a different definition for the loss of virginity, whether it be from sexual intercorse, tampons, or any other object deliberately placed in the vagina for whatever reason. Scientifically, there is a thin layer of tissue up there that is nicknamed the "cherry," but that can be torn in other ways other than tampons or sexual activity, like horseback riding, gymnastics, and what not.
Really, people use tampons at whatever age they feel is most comfortable for them, and it usually has to do with their own moral view points.

i started when i was 12 and id rather use them over a pad, pads are gross and make me feel nasty and its even more nasty when its a hot day. but your not weird, your not the only one who started at that age. and you dont have to wear a super when your in the pool unless you have heavy periods then you do. but if you do go in the pool and you had yours in for a long time(sometime around 4-8 hours) then maybe you should change it just in case.

I was like 12? My friend says she can't even work 'em. I've used one in the pool during my time, I felt really uncomfortable but no one seemed to notice, I googled it if I should, said yeah. It doesnt stay in too well if you're moving a lot but if youre just doing a few laps its all good. BUT, it doesn't matter really when you start as long as you are using them pretty much on your heaviest days or else you'll get super dry..ha.

I FIRST STARTED WEARING THEM AT 13. YOU R RIGHT. THEY DO FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE THAN PADS. AT NIGHT, PUT A PAD ON B4 GO 2 SLEEP. U COULD GET INFECTION IF U LEAVE THEM IN OVER 8 HOURS. AND U CAN GET IN A POOL WITH THEM ON. NOTHING CHANGES
