FOR A THIRD OF WHAT YOU PAID FOR THEM AND TRY IN THE NEWSPAPER

You can advertise them by local circular or newspaper, bulletin board. If that is what you mean.

You could price them by piece(as someone may already have the set and have broken a piece or something) or you could sell as a set. In selling as a set a newly wed or someone starting out may show more interest as they will need a full set.

You could have them set up and out on a nice table with table cloth just to display how they would look while in use. People like to visualize things and that may help someone to see a full place setting sitting out on the table ready to be used. To see how the cups match the bowls and the size of the bowls versus the dinner plate.

Best of luck to you. Hope you do well.

Organize stuff into categories on tables. Put prices on EVERYTHING. Be realistic, a cracked cup isn't worth $35.00, it's probably only worth $0.25 or a dime.

Make sure you have change to give to people.
Make sure you have at least 2 people selling.
Put a notice up in your local grocery store on the bulletin board and one in your newspaper. Have a 'rain date' set up, ie. an alternative date if the weather is bad on your first day.

If you really want to get rid of everything, bundle like items together. For example, instead of selling each paperback book for 25 cents, bundle 4 or 5 together and mark it 75 cents. You'll get rid of more that way! And, be willing to barter, people love to come in and see something that is $1.00 and offer you 50 cents. When you're done, donate all that didn't sell to Goodwill.
