If you are talking about the sprayer that sits to the side of the faucet separately, they are designed with a check valve that is supposed to shut off the water to the faucet when you press the button to make the sprayer work. Sometimes, you might not have enough water pressure to make the diversion work. Make sure you have turned the faucet all the way on and that you have sufficient water pressure in your house.

If that isn't the problem, then you have a problem with the check valve. It could be worn out or it could have deposits built up in it that won't let it seal off properly.

These are easy to replace. Get a new sprayer and replace your old one.

Nothing. If your faucet doesn't run when the sprayer's off, it can't run when the sprayer's on. Either you didn't phrase your question correctly or your sink is possessed by aliens.

If your sprayer is on the shower pipe your diverter is not closed (open to shower) or is leaking
