Sherry, it's too late to contribute much of an aswer - the party's over, you have done whatever you finally decided upon.

I do have one suggestion the next time you need to get someone a gift, and it's sort of funky. Assuming whomever you are presenting this gift to is not a very special, close person - in which case a gift of some more intimate nature might be most appropriate - and that the person like most of us loves an Egg McMuffin on occasion, you could consider the amazing "Egg Muffin Toaster." And I am not kidding - this is one nifty appliance that toasts any kind of bread, muffin, crossant or bagel to perfection, cooks a poached, hard-boiled, scrambled egg or little omlette, and heats up bacon, sausage, ham slices or other pre-cooked meat. It all is done in about 4 minutes, all at the same time. There is virtually no mess.

Last Christmas, I gave away 6 of these as presents. Everyone loved it. Then I sent one to each of my teen kids - my 19-year-old son went bonkers, it gave him something simple to use for breakfast when he got tired of cold pizza.

So tuck this idea away for future use. Oh, by the way, you can get these at Target, Wal Mart, and many other stores, or online. They cost about $40.

And in the meantime, when you choose "best answer," would you say in your comments what you DID do to solve your problem?

Gift cards are always great these days. By the way my B-day is July 2.

tell him it's a special order that has not arrived yet, but that you are not going to tell him what it is until he opens it, cos you want him to be surprised.

then make sure to pay attention to the gifts he did get, and to what he says about the gifts he wanted to get but didn't, then go out the next day and get him one of those

The best thing to give him would be money. Around 20 or 30 dollars. Us guys love getting money because we can spend it on anything we want. But one thing about getting money is that you have to give him a halarious card.

Whatever you choose if he is like me he will just be plesantly suprised with a gift and love you for it. It's the caring that counts over anything! I hope he likes what you get him.

Give him a gift certificate to his favorite store, it's a great alternative, as he can pick and choose what he likes.

it's too late now probably, but does he like scotch? could get a nice single-malt. I know if I got a bottle (or three) of Lagavulin, I'd be over the moon! LOL
