Yes, it is somewhat different from what I expected, yes and yes. Maybe there are some courses I could consider?

what you have not mentioned is, what were you expecting? the best option in front of you is ,dont expect anything. let things happen the way it is happening. you do your good deeds i.e dont worry about the fruits you should get on planting a seed, when it becomes a tree. just do what is right for the society and right for you and derive immense pleasure in being right, doing right. Expectations will always make you unhappy.

I am very intrigued by your first statement. Did you develop your expectation of the world from the womb? Or is it that your childhood interpretation of what the world was is not what you perceive now that you have attained adulthood? Or have you remained constant and the world has become different? In any case, however, I think you should do nothing unusual. Your options, of course, would be to ignore the difference and continue about your life; challenge the difference to achieve something more to your expectation or liking; or change the world (but that is quite a big order and few people accomplish that). Good luck.

Hey kiddo, at my age I have a few sayings that might help.

beer is proof that god loves us
never attribute to malice when stupidity will suffice
I have managed my expectations so well I no longer have any
I have one more speed and its slower

and maybe the most appropriate for this situtation

At this point in life you have to believe in something, I believe I will have another beer.

Make new friends, change jobs, visit new places, all good answers.....but then if you are looking for something special that you have expected from life maybe you need to be talking to friends and family, history repeats its self see what life has offered your elders in their lifetime spam, maybe your missing your calling....good luck.
