In Colorado I was awarded $2000 in my divorce but she wont pay.

If you have a court order (a divorce decree is considered one in most states), you can place a lien on any personal property she has, car, house, whatever, then notify her she has a certain amount of time to resolve the debt or you will act upon the lien and confiscate the property. (You may need an attorney to file the lien, but in many states you do not).

I would go to the courthouse and take your divorce papers with you and talk to one of the clerk's in the civil section. They may be able to help you or tell you what to file. The laws are different in every state and at least if you talk to the clerk's office, they will be able to steer you in the right direction. You can possibly get a judgment against her, but, it still won't get you your money. Then again, it might!

Ask the court for a seizure order (in Michigan it is called a Request and Order to Seize Property or a Writ of Execution) and then a Court Officer can seize her assets, sell them and hopefully pay your $2000

If she has no assets, it will be very difficult. Hire a lawyer to garnishee her wages and slap a lien on her property. If she doesn't work and owns no property, I'd offer her a deal. I'll accept $1000 cash in full payment. Maybe her parents will pay. Threaten that she may damage her credit if she doesn't pay.

Where is your lawyer? They should handle this for you one reason being they get part of the money as compensation.

not all states make them pay they are not always forced. Check you local government on this. if not bug her till she gives up
