According to best anthropological and archaeological evidence thus far, the biological trek that ended with Homo Sapiens Sapiens began in that part of east Africa called the Great Rift Valley.
Our ancestors spread far and wide, some of their physical characteristics changing in response to differing climates and topography.
Eventually, everything pretty much settled down and we got what we got today. For example, those who returned to the hot, sunny clime of Africa got darker skin to better guard against UV radiation. Those who went far eastward lost certain skin parts that prevented their eyes from filtering windborne particulates. Those who settled in the far north got lightened skin to better absorb the weaker sun's rays for the production of Vitamin D.
The where is Earth. The when is over the last 4 and 1/2 million years. The how is genetic responses to climatic and topographical differences. The why is survival.
To simply say black because we started there is to ignore the realities of climate changes which drove our ancestors OUT of Africa more than 500,000 years ago. If there's no rain, there's no food. If there's no food, you move or you starve. And all of Africa was drought-ridden for hundreds of years. Our hominid ancestors either moved or died. Those who moved lived and their descendants began to go back south only with the first of the ice ages. The genetic differences between the races today are so miniscule that to a biologist they are meaningless.

Honestly, I don't think there is anyway to really know, at least scientifically what race came first, and/or why there are different races. Any answer you're going to get to this question is going to be theory or opinion, and anyone can argue it.
If you were to subscribe to the religious aspects to human beginnings, then it could have been any one race. Then the Tower of Babel thing happened, people worshiped a false God, and he made people pay by dividing us, by race and language. The bible never referred to Adam and Eve being white, black, hispanic, whatever.
The scientific theory of evolving from apes always spoke to me that the first humans had black or brown skin. Have you ever seen a caucasian looking ape?
Good luck with this one.

in case you've extremely heard this, and all people genuinely believes this, this is probobly depending on the biblical tale of the tower of Babel. earlier attempting to construct the tower that could attain heaven, each individual spoke a similar language. It would not say that each individual looked alike. in accordance to the tale, God confounded the language of the persons to end them from being waiting to construct this tower. the persons then migrated to diverse elements of the international with others that they could comprehend. Nowhere does it even intimate that each individual had a similar skin colour. yet, you would possibly want to pay interest to Louis Farakhan, in accordance to him, some heretical black guy deliberately 'bred' another race after he became kicked out of egypt. and in view that they were felt to be not so good because the black race, they were exiled to diverse elements of the international. in accordance to Farakhan, the organic black race might want to be masters and one yet another race, including mixed black and different races might want to be thier slaves. no longer a racist attitude in any respect. as long as your part of 'carry close' race.
