Why do we feel the need to butt into the whole world? Cuz we're control freaks.

This was the downfall of all great empires before us, and it will be the cause of our demise as well.

I think we need to leave Cuba alone and let the people there decide their political destiny of being the only Communist nation in the western hemisphere or become a democratic nation. There's no sense in aggravating the already tense situation with long-time president Fidel Castro. Both the U.S. and Cuba have been at odds since Castro came to power almost 50 years ago and turned it into a Communist state shortly thereafter. And for the billions of dollars that are needed for this mess, that could be used for better things here at home for infrastructure repair, health care, better roads, crime prevention, etc. I haven't heard anything about this. Maybe CNN has gotten all this wrong!

We are not planning to take over Cuba. Where did you get that crazy idea?

I took at the CNN website and there is absolutely NOTHING about the U.S. taking over Cuba. Once Castro dies, the U.S. will offer assistance to help Cuba become a democracy. However, we aren't planning to take over and your implications to the contrary are unsupported by the CNN story.

I don't think the Cuban citizens are happy, maybe Castro is. Why would they risk life and limb on a rickety boat to make it to US shores? Does this sound like they are happy with Cuba?

Personally I don't care about Cuba, they do not pose much of a threat right now. I know Castro would not like to see a change, but the citizens would tell a different story.

good, i in my opinion think of of that the commerce embargo is an anachronism via now. there have been motives to place it on Cuba interior the approach the chilly conflict, by way of fact Cuba became into transforming into, by way of fact the Russians want to place it the "Soviet fist decrease than u . s . of u.s.'s nostril", of course some thing had to be complete approximately it. yet now it poses no threat in any admire, so if the U. S. desires to embargo Cuba by way of fact it quite is an authoritarian regime, then it additionally might desire to embargo Venezuela, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia and endless distinctive worldwide places, who play an significant place contained interior the U. S. and worldwide financial device. in short I see no explanation for the U. S. embargo to exist, the embargo has complete now no longer some thing recently and lifting it is going to help the two the U. S. and Cuban exporters.

Dude, Cubans run Cuba. We aren't planning to take over the country either. The only thing we own or are going to own of Cuba is Guantanamo Bay and Bush is planning to shut that down eventually. Do a little research and REALLY listen to the news, please.

Let's nuke 'em first and then tell them that they should have kept the missiles they got from the USSR prior to the Cuban missile crisis.

Seriously though, I wouldn't pay too much attention to anything CNN reports.

Why are we still surprised when our country does or even considers stuff like this? How easily we forget. They do have something the powers-that-be want.......Cuban cigars. It shouldn't be too long before we decide England shouldn't have a monarchy and take them on.
