Just wondering if you guys could hold a grudge against someone and then just forget about them in the long run? Or do you keep it forever?

I think it depends on the severity of what they did....I had someone who I was quite close to do something that totally made my life miserable thru lies and jealousy, and I swore that I would never speak to them again....I actually felt "hatred" for that person...after about a year or so I realized the hatred I felt was taking too much energy out of me and therefore, decided to try and forgive her for the pain she had caused...I will NEVER forget though and to this day I am very aware of what she is capable of doing and don't let her get that close to cause the devastation she caused back then.....

Time fades the emotion and it may take the edge off of the wound, but some things will never be forgivable. I don't know if you can ever completely forget someone, they may fade to the back of your mind. But something may bring them back up occasionally. I'd sooner forget the person than give up the grudge.

~Holding a grudge vs. Being smart & staying away~
It's a choice. You can choose to dwell on whatever happened or cut your losses and keep on truckin'. It is really holding a grudge or are you being proactive about a situation that has the potential of getting worse or even unhealthy. It is important to realize when you are being treated badly by another person.

Everyone gets angry with someone at some point. Get over it its life. Holding a grudge doesn't change anything. That's whats wrong with the world today everyone lives life unhappy and angry with someone. Either forgive the person or just move on without them.

I tend to hold grudges way too long, and it's not healthy to do that. I need to be the bigger person, and once it's over, drop it. I'm working on that too, but it's not easy to do. I am however, making progress.

Depends on what happened. I always say that you can forgive, but you do not have to forget.
