There might be plants blooming right now that the hummingbirds prefer rather than the feeder. Also, I've noticed with my feeders that the hummers prefer a perch rather than to hover at the feeder.

First of all you want to make sure that you are using the right kind of nectar for it and it has not spoiled (You can buy nectar mix at the stores). 2nd - try hanging the feeder by your window or on your deck, if you have plants with red tubular flowers around it is an added bonus. After we hung our feeder it only took a day for the birds to start coming in. Now we have 5 that are here constantly. What is neat is that they come in to feed now even if we are sitting underneath of it or the children are playing or looking out of the window. I have even been able to get some awsome pictures. Please be patient it will happen. Currently I am working on the Orioles and after 2 weeks I have finally found the right spot/combination for their feeders. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Hummingbirds are very tiny and have to feel safe, so place it a little higher. Hang it on a post or up in your window, at least five or six feet from the ground.
ALSO, make sure that the sugar solution IN the feeder is NOT sour or fermented. If you live in a very hot area, you should change it at least once every couple of weeks.

hummingbirds will feed at any level, since the flowers they like can be any height. but they take a while to discover a feeder, once they do you may not see them often, anyway. just keep an eye out. if you see one buzzing around your yard, chances are you've been found. another help is if you place or plant some flowers around that they will feed from.

are the bushes filled with cats waiting for your bird bait to work? Put it out in the open.. but in shade if possible so the food does not get hot.. also.. make sure your food is fresh.. if it is stale the humming birds will not like it.
