Here is a great homemade cleaning green alternative to the harmfull store bought toxin cleaners.

Linoleum floor cleaner: White vinegar, water

Mop with a mixture of 1/2 cup vinegar in a bucket (pail) of warm water. The vinegar odor will go away shortly after the floor dries.

You can also purchase essential oils and mix in with your home made cleaner to personalize to your mood. There are many essential oil scents from lavendar to jasmine.

If the dirt does not come off because of long term use and it has simply become part of the floor it seems, probably your only solution at that point is to replace your linoleum.

I use straight white vinegar poured into a spray bottle. Spray & mop. The vinegar odor goes completely away, cleans especially well, and is very inexpensive to use.
