You can try spraying it with pesticides, we had alot of poison ivy and my boyfriend weed whacked it, trust me you do not want to do this. He had it everywhere, when he weed whacked it, it went all over his body, he was covered from head to toe.

I believe I can help you with this question, since I also had poison ivy all over my yard, and my dogs kept running through it and wiping it on me, and I am highly allergic....(did I mention highly allergic??)
After lots of internet research, I found there is really only one chemical that kills it, and kills it DEAD... It is called Triclopyr, and Round Up makes a nice killer for it.... and I never had to TOUCH IT.....
It is also a heavy brush killer, so be careful what you put it on, although I didn't notice any damage to my big trees.....
Good luck!! Hope it works for ya!!

Spray roundup on the leaves.Should die in 3 weeks. If you are talking 100 or more acres of the stuff then goats would be cheaper(be sure you have good fence cause goats love roses or any thing with stickers)

If you want an environmentally safe way -we always used a goat on the farm, and when we moved to the suburbs we borrowed one from some one , or bought one then sold it.
