Tiny Tim - but like the first guy said, who'd want to.
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Frank Zappa - not for his musicianship, just for his creativity

who would want to duplicate another musician? (unless you're into all that sample crap like many of today's hip hop acts)

Music is about making YOUR OWN STATEMENT. Any body can duplicate any other musician (I have got most of the Hendrix Star Spangled Banner from Woodstock down), but when it comes to new music, you will never last if all you do is copy others all the time. Won't even make it in a bar band with nothing but a 20 song list of covers.

Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, jeez come to think of it, it is a pretty long list... John Lennon, Annie Lennox, Macy Gray, Gordon Lightfoot, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Otis Redding, pat Benetar, Joan Jett... ok getting a little tired here... Chris Issak, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Billie Holiday, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Bessie Smith, Frank Sinatra, Bo Didley, B.B King, and Willie Nelson.

I can think of more, but my fingers are sore...

Cliff Burton - bass player for Metallica. He is my main influence and with him in the band, Metallica rules! But after he was gone Metallica goes the downward spiral. They suck with St Anger now. They tried some few Bass player replacements, Newsted and Trujillo, but no one can match Burton's skill and vast musical knowledge. Hell, Master of Puppets will not be a masterpice album without Burton's input of musical time signatures.
