There is a simple pain free procedure where the doctor puts simple saline into the veins and make them disappear. It is quiet painless because he uses a salve with the same stuff dentist use a needle to deaden the area around your teeth.

The veins go away. Simple and easy.

If you REALLY have varicose veins (and not mistaken fior spider veins or veins close to the skin surface) and they are causing you discomfort, I would have them removed if I were you. I was in your shoes at the age of 17 and again at 28. Specialists recommended the op, as the pressure the vein was causing actually disrupted other veins in the leg and put me at risk of getting more varicose veins. Its been 5 years since the last op and my legs are as smooth as a baby's bottom! No scarring, the procedure is actually very simple and you can more or less walk home afterwards.

Alternatively, if you feel your case doesn't call for surgery, then 'surgical tights' are recommended - these support the legs and are very thick and not exactly 'sexy' but in the winter months worn under jeans or a long skirt, who is to know! Try not standing too long on your feet, rather move around . Keep you circulation up by at least 30 mins excercise every day. Elevate you feet when resting, this REALLY helps. You can get lotions that are meant to help, check with your pharmacist.

You probably spend too much time not moving about. Try walking more. Also when you are resting try raising your legs above your hips to assist the drainage of blood back to your heart.
