A camping trip to Gonzalez. The palmetto park is really nice. Just set up your tents and bring lots of mosquito repellant. I also like Mustand Island State Park for the same reason. You can camp on the beach. Bring lots of water and make sure the kids drink water every half hour. even if they say they are not thirsty make them drink water. and lots of sunblock. I have spent many camping trips at Mustang Island. Both palmetto and mustang island have shower areas and camper bathrooms. You can also bring an RV if you have one. We had family that did. There are some reasonable kitchenette motels in Corpus Christi you can get for a week with two beds at 199. Everyone else can bunk on the floor. Check out the older ones if you are saving money. I stayed at a place with a kitchenette, living area and bedroom for $300 for the week. Rockport has some nice places similiar too. If you can get a kitchenette, you save a lot of money. And don't forget the $1 items at McD's if you decide to eat out.

I am staying in Galveston in July for 2 nights completely free. It's one of those timeshares. You have to listen, but not necessarily buy. And, your kids can have a great time at the hotel, on the beach in the pool. It is even a kitchennette. I don't know if they will take 13. There are only 4 of us.

I just think beach vacations are the best, but make sure that you have water, sunscreen and make sure your little waterbugs are safe in appropriate swim attire (don't let them go to far out).

Geez, 13?? That's a big family.

Try going to somewhere in Mexico, but close to the border.
