Incentives for hard work.

Money talks and is the top motivator.

Cash bonus awards for perfect attendance and or being on time everday. If something like this is done on a monthly basis it gives everyone an opportunity to improve and try to get the money.

Good year end bonuses are good for tenure.

When you don't have the funds or don't want to give the funds, sometimes Certificates of Appreciation are all some people need. It's nice to know you are being appreciated for you hard work and dedication.

A day off or half day reward for perfect attendance (without having to use leave).

The key is always let your employees know how much you value them and you want to keep them.

Do a survey and ask them, annonomoulsy, the same question you asked here and take their complaints into consideration. They are the ones that are unhappy and you want to appease them.

If you are constantly hearing things like "you are not paying me enough to do this job" or "you need two more people to do this job" or "I should be over there because I'm more productive there and Joe is better over here"; listen and take all of that into consideration. They are not always just blowing off steam, especially if they are newcomers with these complaints, because if they are good, they will be short timers if you don't don't something to make them feel wanted or needed.

A lot depends on several things.

How low is morale?
How long has it been low?

I find that usually low morale stems from management's attitude. If employees do not feel valued, that they are appreciated for their contributions, are not compensated fairly etc.

Start with upper management. If you are the decision maker, you need to decide what you are willing to do to repair the relationships. Increases in pay, flex hours, awards/prizes for valued employee behaviour such as attendance etc.

If managment won't change, the morale will get worse.

Good luck.

best way to motivate employees is to make them realise that you beleive in them.mere incentives etc wont motivate them but moral support like praising their work, pointing out their mistakes in a way not to make them loose confidence, making them feel how important they are for the organization..etc besides providing some monetary benefits will motivate them.but you know moral support is more important than monetary support to motivate the employees.

Try to gather an event outside of work paid by the company. Something that will bring the employees together.

I agree. this is greater beneficial than laughable now the place each and every thing occurring interior the country has continually delivered approximately Obama asserting "he new no longer something". this is worry-free to sit down down back and spot that his supporters act like fools and render themselves intentionally ignorant just to maintain helping him. wager what? He treats them precisely that way - ignorant and silly via fact he can as he thinks he's the pied piper and his flute playing will lead his flock everywhere he needs them to circulate.

Praise their work. Thank them for their contribution to the company, and give them a pay rise.
