Israel was founded in 1956 by U.N. Mandate and has been in a state of perpetual war ever since. Palestine wasn't even a country, but a British Protectorate prior to that and prior to World War 1, it was a part of the Ottoman Empire. The people that lived in that region had the opportunity to accept the creation of that state and live in Harmony with the Jews that had survived the Holocaust. The Arabs didn't want to make peace. So on that day 15 May,1956 the United Armies of TransJordan, Syria, Egypt and the rest of the Arab World banded together to destroy this new nation. So they invaded and were driven back. so they tried again in 1963, Again in 1967 and Again in 1972. When they could not destroy the Nation of Israel on the battlefield. They started another tact. Destroy them through the State Sponsored Terror Organisations Like The PLO, Hammas, Islamic Jihad. After years of Terrorism, the PLO finally came to the Peace Table, Although not for the peaceful co-existance but to put a new spin on the legacy of a mass murderer, who slaughtered Jews,Christians and Muslim Alike, None other than that of Yassir Arafat. We not only forgave his past actions that would put you and I in the Death Chamber, The Nobel Committee gave him a Peace Prize prior to his death. After that the west has worked very hard to appease the Arabs and their claims. But instead of being a good faith participant in peace the Arab majority in the West Bank and Gaza, place the most heinous Terrorist Organization on the Earth in charge, Forget Al-Qaida, they are Boy Scouts, compared to the numbers of people murdered by this group. They cannot be negotiated with, and they only understand force.
So before you comdemn the Israelis, consider what it is like to know that your life is worthless to your enemies and that they will not stop untill the last Jewish Child has his brains bashed out against the Western wall. They respond with considerable restraint. We in the United States were only attacked once on September 11th,2001. We have invaded 2 countries and will destroy any other that decides to raise its vile head against US.
Ask KadaffI of Lybia, He saw the light and understood what would happen if it didn't.

Give me a break!
The Palestinians are the terrorists.
Remember these are the same people who repeatedly have suicide bombers kill innocent Israelis on buses and in restaurants.
They hate Jews so much that they are willing to kill themselves. They value death over life. How sick is that?
It is the Palestinians that always provoke Israel into retaliating.
It amazes me that Israel has not wiped them off the map yet. That is what I call RESTRAINT in light of Israel's superior military power.
Has anyone ever asked why other rich Arab nations have never helped out their poor Palestine brothers by furnishing them with sophisticated military planes and tanks?
Maybe it is that they do not want to be associated with these envious and hateful poor people.
By the way, I am non-Jewish.

Palestinians kill two and kidnap 1 soldier!! Palestinian suicide bomber strike again! Are you picking your headlines?? Why the Palestinians elected terrorists is mind boggling! They were in peace talks with Israel. The Israelis had given up territory, even to the point of dragging settlers out of certain locations and the Palestinians, instead of moving in destroyed all the houses, now that was smart. The Palestinian people do not want any peace and are proving it to the rest of the world. I know this is not the answer you want but this is the truth.

Yes, Israel is a terrorist nation. It is no different than afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. 60 years ago a group of people went to a country and claimed it for themselves!
The world which got together and attacked Iraq for invading Kuwait has never said a word against Israel occupying Palestine. The freedom struggle of palestenians is being called acts of terror!
What if jews had believed new York to be the promised land and asked for New York and not Palestine?

I think Israel is totally justified. Hamas has been poking Israel for decades. Israel gave them Gaza and Palestinians won't give an inch. Palestinians and Hamas aren't going to quit until Israel is gone or Israel takes them out. Israel has the fire power and the man power to rid the world of Hamas. The only reason they don't is because they are trying to be civilized about this. But frankly, if the palestinians keep poking this snake, it's gonna bite 'em. And Israel will be justified.

No,their neighbors are.The Israelis have tried repeatedly to make peace,Palestine will not have it.The Palestinians know as long as they do not accept a two nation agreement that they can continue to send terrorists to kill and not suffer.
If your neighbors threw rocks at your house and beat up your children daily and the police would do nothing,what would you do? All because they had lost the property you bought when they lost it in a tax foreclosure,and still insist it is theirs and you have no right to it even though you have the deed.

The populous elects HAMAS, which fires 100s of rockets into Israel daily.
Many Palestinians seem to worship suicide bombings -- for many facets of satisfaction it brings them.
There seems to be little productive activity in those areas; more or less giant welfare ghettos / refugee camps -- decades old.
I'm surprised at the chronic restraint exercised by Israel.
