ok...I have to tell you that cocaine is a monster that won't let you off. I do not have personal experience but I've watched someome very close to me struggle to regain control and is still struggling. Were you there with her while she was "experimenting"? I hate to break it to you but she did more than one line. Cocaine is a serious drug that could get you addicted on the first try. Not only does it damage your body and your personality it will damage everyone who your close with and who loves you. Cocaine stays in the system for 3 days so yes, there will be traces of it left in her system. I seriously hope that she doesn't try it again. OH, here's another question...What makes you think that this time was her first time doing this? Rapid weight loss is a factor of using this kind of drug among others. I want you to let her use your computer to read what I am saying. I've had to battle with this loved one for several years. I've had to put up with him not coming home and spending his whole paycheck on this stuff. He doesn't even care that we need food or we need to pay bills. His personality went from loving to a person that I hate being around. Family becomes last on the list as well as other top priorities. You might look at this and say oh that's not bad and I can handle that.. I have to say that it is pure hell and of course your not going to know how it actually feels without going through it...but why would you want you? I also would like you to do some research about this drug and what happenes to the people on it. It can cause some serious damage including death. Please..stop it while you can and go have an awesome life without the help of drugs.

Usually after taking drugs, or alcohol, its up to 24 hours in your system - a blood test will be able to detect whether she has taken any drug or alcohol, along with urine samples. If she has got a drug/alcohol problem they will refer her to the approirate clinic to help control and detox any misuse. Depending on her age, if she is under 18, social services may become involved to help the welfare of her and any surrounding family issues or problems. If there is no detection of drugs/alcohol in her system they may ask for a repeat test later on in life, she may have food eating habits like anorexia or something, which the doctor will then help her with the proper treatment.

I think it depends on what they are looking for. If they suspect substance abuse, they might test the blood to look for it. On the other hand, they might simply be looking to see what the concentration of healthy nutrients is - in which case, cocaine use might not show up (though I don't know for sure).

I'm not a doctor and by no means an expert - sorry this isn't a complete answer, but it reflects my thinking and I hope it is of some use.

they will only detect what they are looking for in her blood. If the blood test is to check sugar, protein, disease, thats what they will find. If they do a drug test in her blood ,then they will find the cocaine. She is told what test is going to be done and have the option to agree to take the test or not. They can't do a drug test without her permission.

Cocaine passes from the body in 2 - 4 days after taking it. Depending on the amount taken, the amount of body fat on the individual and so on.

However it's unlikely that she will be tested for substance abuse if they are trying to determine why she is losing weight.

As for the ridiculous comments about not needing friends who take cocaine, ignore them. Everyone needs friends and it's not our place to judge them but to support them and be there for them when they need help as they are for us.

If they run a drug screen, it will be positive...however, that is the only way to detect the drug, unless she has physical exam findings of cocaine use...

Blood test is a mirror that tells what disease one is suffering from.It can be inferrred from this test.Examination of various blood cells and an analysis of serum can tell a lot about the general condition of the person concerned.

Cocaine can not be detected unless specially tested for. This is not a routine test.
