Windows 98 is doesn't support ntfs partition only fat 16(for win 95) anf fat 32.Ntfs is only for win 2000 and win xp.You need to use Partition Magic(any version to convert your partition.

Dear friend,
The best way to install Windows 98 on NTFS, is to use Microsoft Virtual Machine software. In such way under WinXP you can install Win98, Win95, Linux and whatever you can imagine.

98 will not install on NTFS. Its a FAT file system. You need to repartition your disk to allow 98 to install. That will effect your existing XP.
