Quite frankly, no. Don't get me wrong -- I'm proud of our monarchy what with the tourist revenue and the last shield against tyranny thing. However, they are human and British citizens just like the vast majority of us, so why should they travel for free? The NHS is currently in the red by so-and-so million (or is it billion?) and you've got Blair buying million pound jets for him and the Royals to travel in style, just so he can emulate George from over the water.

True, the Royals represent the UK, but they get enough privileges, what with their palaces and money. They should pay to travel just like the rest of us. First/Business class on a scheduled flight isn't a shame. They waste money with separate chartered flights, not forgetting that time when Wills used an RAF jet to fetch his Polo boots... that's just plain immoral.

Well, if the British taxpayers aren't willing to pay for the Royal Family's travel expenses, then who will? After all, doesn't all the Royal Family's income come from the pockets of the British and Commonwealth taxpayers? Perhaps they should all be forced to go out and get real jobs, so they can pay for their own travel expenses. I know that their schedules can sometimes be grueling, but in the end, they're all still getting a free ride.

They are public figures supported by the British people, so of course they are going to get free travel. I do think that it should be limited, for example, they should go the cheapest way as possible, and limit their foreign trips, or share say a plane with each other, or a helicopter. This can be done with better planning of official engagements, there is nothing wrong with say 2 or 3 royals conducting engagements in the same town or towns that are closer to each other and then taking the same way back to their palaces at the end of the day.

Actually they all ready do. The schedule of the Royals is worse then anything you could imagine. The just decommissioned (not to long ago) thier ship The Britannia...it was one of the first vessels down the St. Lawrence Seaway when it opened up. The younger Royals are doing most of the traveling with the Queen being 80yrs old. So, the answer is yes....

God Save the Royal Family

We're worshiping movie actors, singers and football players, so why shouldn't the Royal Family get free travel?

They should get free travel inside the United Kingdom and countries that recognize the Queen as their rightful ruler.

No--the days of all the royal hangers on is well past-pay like everyone else--I believe that the reign of the present Queen once ended--will cast a cold chill over all the freeloaders-

By the way--I respect the Queen for the long and loyal service she has given to GB and the Commwealth--but she is the last of the Dinasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutey not.
They have all got huge personal fortunes & can more than afford to pay their own fares.
I believe that we sould only pay for their expenses incurred in doing their "jobs" & a nominal amount for appearances. Also I think they should have to pay for their own security unless it is for state visits of on a day they are "working".

NO!!!!!!

But then I find it hard to believe in the Royals.

I like fairy tale princes and princesses.

In real life, we should all be as equal as possible.
