Kansas state will not allow my son-in-law be a graduate nurse. Kansas board of nursing took his permit to work until they decide. He has a felony from 10 years ago.

Were you under the age of 18?

If the crime was committed under the age of 18 and a person turns 18, some people believe that a person's record is expunged. But you have to file it through a court and it is decided by a judge.

Its illegal for the state to disclose that information if it was truly expunged.

I've had to do it when I turned 18. I remember a little about the terms and conditions. So, I would contact a lawyer about it.

It probably depends on the jurisdiction where you live; you should check with the College of Registered Nurses (or equivalent) where you live. Be honest about what happened, etc.
