Im trying to find info about setting up wireless network for a double story house, but on the net there's all this computer jargon that drives me insane. So if there's anyone who can clarify how to set up a wireless network I would be really great full.

As far the wireless network is concerned it very simple.I will
give u an example suppose if u have 2 laptops one in Grd Floor & the other on the 1St floor u need 3 items to be brought i.e
1.wireless card for ur laptop 2nos.
2.D-link wireless accesspoint. 1nos.
What u can do is connect the internet cable to the access point place it in any of the mid point in ur house or conveneint place &configure the accesspoint with the wireless lan of ur laptop thats it network is established.

In addition, since the area to be serviced is large... You might want to consider only MIMO routers for the wireless access... These have more power and wider coverage than traditional equipment. In larger homes, the traditional equipment usually fails after 50 or so feet distance. The newer MIMO equipment will span much larger area.

Also, make sure that you use some level of encryption to protect your network from prying eyes! WEP is normally insufficient these days... Look into WPA as a more secure protection.
