1) Exercise. Go to the gym and work out or go for a run. I always find working out clears my mind of things.
2) Go for a hike, someplace inspiring.
3) Volunteer with the elderly, homeless, or at a children's hospital.

Forgetting problems only happens when it's no longer a problem. But you can push them aside for awhile. Decide to have "happy time" with yourself or with others. Bake cookies, take a walk, do anything but sit still. And when the first little thought of your problem begins to creep into your mind, stop it. Replace it with a happy memory or focus on something else. Find the humor in ordinary things. Once you laugh, you'll feel better. Then when it's time to face the problem again, your head will be a little bit clearer.

Sometimes it is better to let go of your problem at least for a bit...and take a feel good day. Go to a movie even if it is by yourself, maybe buy yourself a small something, and have a favorite snack. Be good for yourself for the day, and take a break from the problem.
Kind of like putting a deposit in the bank of good mental health...to tide you over for the bad times.

what ya really need is to sit back and take a good deep look and decide if the real situation really requires a realistic approach or does it require some sort of other form of a possible reaction or even a looked at by someone who knows what could be done to the question of why am i really saying and do i make the least possible sense as i walk through this very strange world that is my brain

I pray to God and talk to him like a friend. I give him my problem and let him noodle on it. He is always very good at giving me solid advice.
Then I turn to someone else that has a problem and try to help them out. I may do the dishes, unasked. I may run an errand for an elderly person. I may buy a special card for someone that is feeling down and write a sweet note. There are many things . . .
I hope that helps.

My answer to your question is that you have asked an impossible question. How can anyone advise you how to solve a problem when they have no idea what the problem is? What are you looking for ? A magic spell?

can't forget your problems but you can step away from them for a while and take a breath. Find something to do that will take you physically and mentally away for a bit. Try helping someone else. It always works for me.

Problems are just situations which we don't like. Try to input something into the situation which you like and remove those which you don't like. If it's a big one, just try to break it down into small units so that it is easier for you to identify the bad ones.

I like to write everything in my journal. I find that once it's written down, and my thoughts and feelings are straight, I can start to get on with my life again.
For me, it's less about forgetting and more about acknowledging and moving on.

you don't FORGET a problem.
you simply just go on with your life and do something that makes you happy. what is your passion?
telling someone to stop forgetting about their problems, how to forget their problems is like telling someonen how not to think of pink and purple elephants in tutus.
if someone tells u to stop thinking of pink and purple elephants with tutus, what is the first thing that you think of?
