I just woke up from a dream (borderline nightmare) that left me psychologically impaired. In the dream appeared a girl whom I barely know, but would like to know a lot better. She appeared at my door in a mini-skirt, but since I didn’t answer the door in time, she took off in a bright yellow H1 Hummer (I know, this is a bit of a stretch). And then I woke up, afraid that she would hook up with another guy, leaving me devastated.

As anyone who reads my questions knows, I seldom get these kinds of feelings about girls, as I’m a “tap and scrap” kind of guy. Most girls don’t mean jack to me, and I wouldn’t even give two donkey droppings if my dream had involved any other girl. But wouldn’t you know it that the ONE girl that I would HATE to see with another guy (before trying me out) is the one who appears in my dream? Is God trying to send me a message?

Life can be such a *****. She ***** with your psyche constantly, dumps you in the end, and then you never hear from her again.

But yeah, I haven't had these feelings in almost 10 years... since when I was a freshman in high school and the hottest girl in my class passed me over for the biggest loser in my grade. Ever since then, I never became emotionally attached to any bitches, even if I was involved in a relationship with them... I suppose this was a defense mechanism, though having an abundance of girls on the side contributed to these feelings as well.

To the first respondent: I respect your opinions and all, but let's not turn this into a theological debate. Next thing you know, a bunch of Bible-quoting Christians will see your response, enter this thread, and provoke an unwanted flame war which totally deviates from the topic at hand.

Dreams are glimpses of what is currently going on in your life. And since you seem to have a very strong dislike of the idea of actually committing yourself to someone, this dream was all about that. On the surface you're hardened and show no love. The girl in your dream just told you that although you talk tough, deep down you want someone special. Maybe she left as some sort of indication that you need to follow your heart. And yellow is a happy color, so maybe her leaving in a yellow car tells you that if you follow or search for "her', you'll also find that you're happy.

I'm fairly confident that dreams are meaningless. It's just something your brain does when it's bored and has little outside sensory input to process. It thinks of random images from real life and puts them together into a storyline; because that's what it expects to see. In real life, events are connected together, so your brain thinks that these images must also connect together. So it turns random images into an active storyline. Then, when we wake-up, we continue to connect dots that didn't really exist. We experience this all the time when we're awake, and I see no reason why our brains wouldn't do this when we're asleep.

Life doesn't have to make sense, but sometimes it's not a bad idea to do so. You can watch a movie that has meaning to you that the filmmakers didn't intend. That doesn' t mean that you shouldn't take meaning from it. It just means that you shouldn't ascribe these meanings to the filmmakers. Similarly, you can take meaning from your dreams; but that doesn't mean that anything is trying to tell you anything. If anything, I think it's you trying to put meaning onto your dreams. You're telling yourself something; not God or your subconscious. Maybe you should listen, or maybe it's garbage. Your decision. But there is no evidence to suggest that this is anything other than your own active mind telling you something.

Oh yeah, and you really need to get a better attitude about women. Not because of your dream, but because it's mentally handicapping you and hurting your personality. I'm not saying that based on your dream, but based on what you wrote in the question. Life is all about enjoying it while allowing other people to enjoy it. And jerking around girls isn't good for you or them.

I think i can answer to half of your question:

Based on the sum of our perceptions each of us create his own image of the "world". We can only assume that the "real" world is exactly the intersection of all these separate visions. If we Analise this world we can figure out that there are rules who apply and even if there are many aspects who escape to our "ration" that doesn't imply that chaos is the dominant element because we are not sure that we know all the factors who leads to those "unpredictable/random" events.
At this point we have two situations:
1. There is no creator/ruler(god if you like) of this universe in witch case the answer to your question is obvious : god is NOT toying with you because it doesn't exist
2. The GOD exist (but doesn't make any interventions on you) not only HIM i'm referring here to any form of his extended presence (angels, visions you name it) ... so in that case also no need to worry you are not one of his "targets"
3. For some reason indeed you are influenced by his will, but like i said since there are rules that implies he do it with one purpose "in mind" so just -toying- is out of the question ... what FOR YOU is toying may be part from a greater plan so in reality you cannot call it this way because his true purpose escape your/our reasons. However i found odd why he picked the yellow for hummer ?!!

Anyway i think now is clear that at least god is not mocking you.
However the question remains open regarding your alter ego (i'm pretty sure that he is the source of your discomfort)

That is what i want to know!!! Sometimes I think maybe he is a myth and then when something good happens he pops up into my head like he had something to do with it.

Maybe your subconscience is telling you to grow up. If it were God it would have been much more painful because He/She/It likes to get the point across.
